Grueby Faience Company was founded in 1894 by William Grueby who was inspired by French pottery matte glazes, particularly the cucumber green that became the company's hallmark, and the refined simplicity of Japanese ceramics. In its heyday Grueby was sold through Tiffany Studios in New York City and Gustav Stickley incorporated Grueby tiles in his furniture. This beauty measures 12" high and has a subtle, abstracted leaf and pod design in repousse.

The inspiration for our new plaque was an English charger circa 1902. Anselmo Miranda has beautifully articulated the heart design in repoussé and gently rolled edges. This beauty measures 13" wide and comes with a copper hanger on the back.

Our copper plaque was inspired by a copper mirror produced by the Roycroft metal shop in the early 20th century. We haven't made this plaque for several years so I asked Anselmo Miranda to make a small edition and they are ready for their new homes! The rose and vine design are beautifully detailed in repousse' by Anselmo. The plaque is as beautiful today as it was 100+ ago!
